What is the Darwin Lions Beer Can Regatta?
The Darwin Lions Beer Can Regatta is an annual event held in Darwin, Australia. The event consists of a race between boats made mostly out of empty beer cans, plastic milk bottles, iced coffee containers (as long as it floats). The race is open to anyone and everyone who wants to participate. There are no rules about the boat design, although the primary flotation must come from empty drink containers. Catamarans are popular and generally quite quick in the water.
