Best beer can boat

A  miscellaneous class

Henley on Mindil

Battle of Mindil

As well as other events on the day.

All of this could not happen without the support of local companies.

This year we realise that people an organisations may be having issues with collecting cans either beer or soft drink cans, we at the BEER CAN REGATTA believe we have solved this issue.

For a small fee of 100 dollars the recycling centres at Pinelands they  will supply 1000 cans of your liking, take your gloves as you may have to sort your own, if you want all one type of can.

This year we are trialling boats/kayaks made out of Plastic milk bottles.  Be inventive let your mind go. just remember it must float.

Since 1974 this event has had some great boats, just have a look at the beer can regatta web site photos.

Information needed to build a boat is there, but it is a guide, be inventive.

Build a Boat

In 2017 we raised funds for the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard and SIDS & Kids NT.

The Australian Volunteer Coast Guard need a new berth for their vessel, to ensure that it is ready to go out and assist mariners in distress. Darwin Lions Beer Can Regatta has raised $15,000 to repair their dry dock.

It's all in a good cause and fun

We estimate that the cash we have donated to charitable causes in the NT between 1974 and 2016 is a little over $1.5M - this is a raw dollar figure and is not adjusted for inflation, to provide a "today's dollar" amount. We also don't have a total for the in-kind support we have provided to other organisations, or organised to flow directly from our sponsor to our beneficiary, because those dollars don't pass through our books.
